In recent years, growing interest and research into neuroscience has significantly impacted psychotherapy interventions. By providing a deeper understanding of the brain's structures and functions, this research has led to the development of new techniques that are more effective than traditional therapy in treating various issues. This integration of neuroscience into psychotherapy has led to more personalized and impactful treatments.
At 180 Counseling, we utilize interventions that are rooted in this scientific approach to help our clients experience healing more quickly and with less pain.
My work is my passion because it allows me to help clients resolve difficult memories, recover from past traumas, and rewrite their narratives to live more fulfilling lives.
My approach goes well beyond talk therapy. I specialize in treating trauma with proven strategies that promote healing and transformation. I am eclectic in my approach but primarily use eye-movement and "parts work" therapies to help clients resolve deep-seated issues as quickly and painlessly as possible. For clients who prefer it, I also bring a faith-based perspective to the therapeutic relationship.
My undergraduate degree is from the IU School of Nursing and my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University. I am additionally trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, Master Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed.
I absolutely love what I do and love for clients to make their experience in counseling their own. Whether you’re stressed, experiencing deep sadness or pain or having a hard time identifying what troubles you, we can work together to find the best solution for you. There is nothing like experiencing hard things and then taking the step to talk to a stranger in order to get help – what courage!
My approach to therapy is client-centered, and I believe that every individual and couple's needs are unique. Through a collaborative and compassionate process, I help my clients gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop strategies for managing their challenges. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where my clients can explore their concerns, find solutions, and achieve greater emotional wellbeing.
I am a bilingual (Spanish) therapist and hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, I am additionally Master Trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART works to reprogram the way distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong negative reactions. I have a passion for helping women and couples through difficult times and am excited to continue on the journey to which God has called me.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and young sons, helping with ministry at church, singing and playing the violin and being outside as much as possible.
